Why Simple Pleasures?
Spend enough time scrolling through Instagram and it's hard not to notice how much creative work is beginning to look the same, homogonised. Perfect lighting. Perfect surfaces. But is perfect actually pleasurable any more? It seemed timely to go in the opposite direction, to take pleasure in the simplest of things, the nitty gritty imperfections.
Meet Finch, owner of a fantastic moustache and soft hands. With his patience, a DSLR camera, and a good dose of sun, we came up with some real zingers. Images with real skin, real drinking, real reading and real sun-light.
Simple Pleasures is a reminder that beauty often lives in the ordinary.
Late afternoon light stretching across a page you're reading. A cold drink leaving rings on a table. Scrolling your phone in the sun. A favourite T-shirt that's been worn a hundred times.
